Following are the main improvements over the previous version:

1. Easier Software Installation Procedure:

• Software installation is designed in order to have a complete system installation by simple menu driven questions.

• Installation procedure is fully documented.

• Software installation time is decreased to less than 20 minutes.

2. User interface Isolation:

• The runtime engine has been fully isolated from the user interface: The user interface does not have to be running for the system to work.

• The system runs as a service: This will enable the system to fully run without the need of logging. This way automatic logging to the system is not needed, which will improve security.

• Because the user interface is isolated from the runtime engine, the user interface can be running anywhere over the network. This will enable the user to fully control the Voice logger system from anywhere over the network. This includes listening to messages as well as system administration.

3. Networking Capability:

• The system became fully networked with support of multiple machines. This will make several machines behave as one, which gives the system to have support of more than 400 ports.

• Control from any machine on the network.

• Centralized Network Settings.

4. Support of windows 2000:

• Software runs on either windows NT or Windows 2000. Old version of the software does not support windows 2000.

5. Improved Sound:

• New version includes a Graphical User Interface that shows the waveform of the message. This simplifies the task of searching within the message

• More accurate play stop that is supported by the graphical waveform.

• Support of repeat: we can play a specific part of a message continuously.

• Warning: We need Extra memory to play larger files: Minimum needed 128Meg. Preferred 256 Meg.

6. Improved Sound Quality:

• Basic Support of 4 types of recordings:

• PCM 64K / PCM 48K /ADPCM 32K / ADPCM 24K

•  Ability to support 12.6 Compression rate.

7. Wav File support:

• Incorporated Vox to Wav conversion in the software. Any file can be converted to wav, and saved on floppy…

• Any file can be automatically played on the sound card. This will enable any user over the network to listen to messages.

8. Improved User interface:

• From previous experience of the older version, we kept a similar look of the old version, but we improved in several ways

• Mini channel display.

• Remove unused modules

• More modular user interface

• Better sorting.

9. Hard Drive and Backup Drive support:

• The old version of the software supports two hard drives and two backup drives. The new software supports anywhere from 1 hard drive and 0 backup drives, to 10 hard drives and 10 backup drives.

10. Free Seating capability:

• Part 1 of Free seating support with name not linked to the channel (fixed problem if name is changed will change the old stuff).

This will disable the link between the customer and the user. The recordings are done by user and not by channel. In this case, if the channel configuration is changed, the recording stays under the same name.

11. Passwords and security Improvements:

• Then new version of the voice logger includes four basic types of access rights. Those access rights are similar to the older version

• Additionally we have the ability to add configurable access rights: this will give the user the capability to have specific access to specific menus.

• Password and settings are not based on a standard database: This will eliminate the possibility of database crash, additionally, it will not have the need to have Microsoft license.

• Added security with network security.

12. Improved Archiving:

• The archiver module has been redesigned in order to be more efficient.

• The Archiver operates correctly even after backup disk full. It will not ignore any file that has not been backed up

• The system keeps up to 65,000 files to archive after the backup drive is full. This feature gives the ability to stay several days even weeks without a backup drive, and when it is inserted, all the files that has not been backed up will be backed up. No need to manually copy any message to backup drives

• If system is restarted, system is clever to continue the archive from where it stopped.

• Improved network based archiving.

13. Multiple users can use the system simultaneously:

• Because the user interface is not linked to the hardware, several users can access the data (over the network) simultaneously. This was not available in the old system.

14. Sophisticated Isolated warning module:

• The warning has been isolated from the software, it can run on any machine on the network, and it can provide the following warnings:

• Sound

• E-mail

• Pop-Up over the network.

• Warning management with history.

• Warning Logging

15. Improved Redesigned search engine that includes the following features:

• Configurable number of backup drives.

• Configurable number of hard drives.

• Search of up to 10 drives over the network.

• Bug free search that includes improved sorting.

• Improved user interface

• Step 1 of having search engine search in archived files that are not on the system.

• Fixed Problem related to Daylight savings. During daylight savings, the file names used to be incorrectly timed.

16. Improved selective search:

• The older version had some problems with the selective search. Those Problems been removed.

• We added several search criteria, including:

• Search by incoming or outgoing.

• Search by caller ID.

• User interface of the selective search has been greatly improved.

17. Up to date help file:

• Help file is more complete than before.

18. Hardware Improvements:

• Loop Current Detect capability

• The detection of the caller ID has been improved.

19. Statistical module that can be used in order to verify the number of calls received (from a statistical point of view)
